All day craft workshop- July 12th

10am – 3pm

Join us for a full day of creating. We’ll try wet felting, carving huon pine salt spoons, cultivating our own Wine Cap mushroom growing scrolls and end the class with some embroidery by sewing our felted motifs onto a byo vest or jacket.
Lunch will be provided  please email for dietary requirements.

Ages 12-99

Where: Meander hall, Meander, Tasmania

What to bring:

Apron or messy clothes

Drink bottle

A favourite vest or jacket (something that doesn’t get washed very often)

 

10am Wet felting

You’ll learn how to wet felt a small design of your choice, roughly 20cmx20cm. Towards the end of the class you’ll sew this onto a piece of clothing. This craft is messy and soapy but great for all ages.

11am Carving huon pine salt spoons

You will carve a pretty little spoon from Tasmanian huon pine. The design is up to you. You can use it for salt or put it on a necklace. This craft requires a bit of hand strength and caution as our tools will be very sharp.

1pm Mushroom scrolls

Have you always wanted to grow your own mushrooms? In this workshop we’ll make beautiful garden scrolls inoculated with Wine Cap mushroom spawn. Your scroll can be placed in your garden, providing you with delicious mushrooms for years to come.
wine caps are easy to grow, tasty and versatile in the kitchen.

2pm Embroider your felted motif

To finish the day we will be embroidering our dried felt motifs onto the vest or jacket you’ve brought with you.
